September 27th: Jean-Pierre Ferland, Jaune (1970)

September 26th: The Velvet Underground & Nico

Because it is Sunday morning and because she is a Femme Fatale :

Here she comes
You better watch your steps
She's going to poop inyour pool, it's true

She's too young to realize
Just look into her blue colored eyes
She'll suck you up and then shit it down, what a clown

Cause everybody knows she's a femme fatale
The things she does to please
She's just a little baby.

September 25th: Fela Ransome-Kuti and the Africa'70 with Ginger Baker (1974)

SIDE ONE:
Let's start
Black Man's Cry

SIDE TWO
Ye Ye de smell
Egbe Mi O

LISTEN TO THIS TRACK BECAUSE IT IS AWESOMO ... is that the Baker Magic?
Ye Ye De Smell

THE STORY BEHIND THE ALBUM IS RESUMED HERE: All About JAzz

THIS IS JEFF'S FAVORITE ALBUM OF FELA KUTI ... simply because it is the funkiest one. Word.

September 24th : Marvin Gaye, Trouble Man Soundtrack (1974)

September 23rd: Scott Walker : 30th Century Man

Since the second best thing that happened into you father's life this week (after your birth) is the arrival of Netflix movie service in Canada, we watched a great documentary on Scott Walker in bed. An iPad, Netflix and the mini projector Cinemin = movie theather in bed.

Good family times.

September 22nd : Johnny Cash, Personal Files (2006)

An album with soulful songs, a deep voice to calm you down. Eleonore loves Johnny Cash.

September 21st: Miles David, Big Fun (1974)

Great album, great artist, but not a role model as her father said.

September 20th : Six Organs of Admittance, Dust & Chimes (2007)

A great album to calm us down since I fell asleep at 5am after a week-end of no sleep. I could not figure out how to make her stop crying. It took me 4 hours to realize that a new born baby doesn't like to sleep in a crib but in her parents' bed. FOUR HOURS. After trying the change diapers, feeding, put on pyjamas, take off clothes, et on recommence!

Subpop

September 19th: Cinematic Orchestra, Ma Fleur (2007)

On Sunday night, we brought Eleonore home. After 30 minutes figuring out how the car seat worked (no sleep for 3 days = not that clever), we brought her home. Earlier in the day, she listened to Patrick Watson singing To Build a Home. Three months before, Patrick told Jeff "sleeps while you can". We did not know back then how right he was.

This album was released on the record label her daddy is working for 14 years, Ninja Tune.

September 18th : Neil Young, Live at Massey Hall

Video of Old Man

Eleonore was born on September 18th at 10:30 in the morning. This is the first record she listened to at the hospital. OK, we are cheating, she listened to it on the computer. Full of great lullabies for a baby, even if we needs to change the lyrics of some songs : "Down by the river / I shot my baby" .. not appropriate.
